FAQ
What is CBD good for?
CBD is commonly used to address specific ailments. Your body naturally produces its own endocannabinoids to support your endocannabinoid system (ECS), but just like with any other nutrient, we can have a deficiency and may need extra support. Enter, CBD. It can boost the ECS to help it perform properly.
Does it interact with my medications?
At sufficient dosages, CBD will deactivate cytochrome P450 enzymes, thereby altering how we metabolize painkillers, statins, blood thinners, insulin & more. This means that you can end up with your body not getting enough of your meds or getting too much because they aren't being processed through properly. We suggest contacting your pharmacist for more information. At the very least, leave a 2-hour gap between medication and CBD, 4 hours if your medication states to stay away from grapefruit.
Will I get high?
No. CBD may help you feel relaxed or less anxious, but you won't get high. Our products have under .3% THC, the legal limit of THC there can be in a product.
Will I test positive on a drug test?
Maybe. CBD alone will not make your drug test positive. When a drug test is performed, the active chemical in hemp that gets detected in a positive screening is THC. Here at Simply Owl Natural, we use a full spectrum raw extract which contains trace amounts of THC so there is always that chance.
What is a terpene and do I need them?
Simply put, terpenes are what gives an lemon its citrusy smell. They give pine trees their unique aroma. They’re even responsible for the relaxing effects in lavender. They are chemicals that determine how things smell. YES, we believe terpenes play a very important part in hemp oil. Cannabinoids (like CBD), along with the terpenes and hundreds of other compounds, are meant to work together. It is called the Entourage Effect. That is why we offer our terpene infused blends of CBD oil. Our Regular tincture has terpenes in it that are common to the hemp plant but it does not have added terpenes. Our blends like Granddaddy Purple are a powerhouse of terpenes formulated to do a specific thing like calm you.
Why can't you make medical claims?
The FDA has a law against making medical claims. Words like, sooth, calm and comfort are words we are allowed to use, so if you see them a lot here, you know why. If you see a site that claims it can do things medically, run. Fast.
What is CBDa? Is it different from CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) are both well-known and abundant chemical compounds native to the hemp plant. CBD, the major non-psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis, has been well investigated for its suspected therapeutic potential.
By comparison, CBDA is just becoming looked at as a very important part of the hemp plant, with different therapeutic properties. Once CBDA has been formed, it’s then converted into CBD by thermal decarboxylation (heat), whereby heat causes the molecule to lose its acidic carboxyl group. CBDa does not affect the body’s endocannabinoid system in the same way that their decarboxylated forms do (CBD). As a result, it acts differently than CBD. Both are able to sooth and comfort, help reduce the perception of pain and reduce the appearance of inflammation buth they do so differently. This means you are getting a powerhouse of a product.
Why should I choose your company?
Would it do any good to say “because I said so”? No, we didn’t think so. INTEGRITY is at the core of everything we do, whether its transparency with our hemp oils and gels, or if it is how and where we source our ingredients. We strive to bring top quality to our line of products. For almost half a decade Simply Owl Natural has produced a full spectrum of products including our line of CBD products. At Simply Owl Natural we don’t just slap “CBD” in a bold font on a label. We can point a finger at exactly what makes our products different. YOU are very important to us.
How long before my package arrives?
Once you place your order, it gets in line to be processed. This typically happens within 24 hours of placing your order. From there, we carefully prepare your order. Once it is all prepared, we start the process of packaging. Then we ship. All this takes place in 24-48 hours, depending on when you place your order. The post office typically delivers in 3-5 days. During holidays it takes much, MUCH longer (due to post office overload-not on our end). So, order accordingly.
